Hi, I’m Tamer! Makeup artist, skincare coach, and clean beauty advocate based in Squamish, BC. This is my green story.

I’ve always been in love with nature. I grew up in a small mountain town, skiing in the winter and hiking in the summer.

When I started working as a makeup artist, it was all about using big brands and high-end products. While these performed incredibly well in the short term, as I learned more about their ingredients and how they could impact our health, I decided to dive a little deeper.

I swapped out my own beauty routine first and saw a huge transformation in my skin. But it wasn’t until my son was born and I discovered he had life-threatening food allergies, that I really took note. I began obsessing about ingredients in everything from food to skincare to makeup.

Back then clean beauty wasn’t a thing. I  played around with Burt’s Bees and whatever I could find in health food stores. In time, brands like Juice Beauty, Well People, and RMS popped up.  And so began the green beauty movement.

Today, there’s plenty of gorgeous brands in the clean beauty space that offer healthy, high-performing choices that are not only backed by science, but are researched and run by women. Love this!

The truth is, your skincare & makeup doesn’t have to be unsafe or contain questionable chemicals to be effective. It can be good for you and kind to the planet, all while delivering amazing results!

Thanks for checking out my space. Clean, sustainable beauty is my thing, and I’m so honoured to be able to share it with you.

Weddings

My first wedding was in Vancouver in the summer of 1999. Her name was Kim. His name was Josh. They lived in the suite just below me.

Kim had dark hair, milky white skin, and a few freckles scattered across the bridge of her nose. We chose shimmery pink lids, black fluttery lashes, a pop of soft colour on the cheeks & glossy lips. It was simple but beautiful. My fee was only $30.

What I remember most about that day was the energy. That wedding day energy! Fast forward 25 years and hundreds of faces later, and it’s still one of my favourite things to do on a sunny summer day!
